Mobile Phones

St Francis CE Primary School is aware that many children now have mobile phones.  These are very expensive and valuable.  We have noted a marked increase in the number of phones in school and feel it is necessary to restate the school’s position on children having phones in school.  Whilst we offer a location for the phones to be kept during the day for safeguarding reasons, with the large number now coming into school daily we cannot take responsibility for loss or damage.

  • Children have to apply for permission to bring their mobile phone to school.
  • If you allow your child to bring a mobile phone to school this is totally at your liability and the school cannot take any responsibility for the phone whilst it is at school.
  • Children only need to bring their phone if they are walking to or from school unaccompanied.
  • Phones must be signed into the school office and not taken to the classroom.
  • Any child found with a phone in school/lesson time, will have the phone confiscated and parents will be contacted to collect the phone from the school office.
  • Please can parents ensure that any tracking device is activated at all times for your child’s phone.

If having read the school’s position on mobile phones you still wish your child to bring their phone, please complete the contact sheet below.
