History

The first phase of St. Francis CE Aided Primary School was opened by The Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Lt. Col. Sir James Walter Scott, 2nd Baronet, on November 19th 1991. Demand for places in the school grew with the further development of housing in Valley Park and consequently the second phase of the buildings was opened in 1995. The school benefits from a large and varied site and has always been popular with parents. Presently, we are hard at work developing our school grounds to create more spaces for outdoor learning.

We are proud of our links to St Francis Church, a Local Ecumenical Partnership involving The Church of England, The Methodist Church and The United Reformed Church, which was also built in 1990-91 and with whom we share a site.
