Pupil Premium Funding is in addition to the funding received in the main school budget.
Schools receive funding based on the number of pupils who are eligible for free school meals (FSM) and children of Service Families. It is intended to address inequalities between children eligible for FSM or within Service Families and their peers nationally, by ensuring that funding to tackle need reaches the pupils who need it most. The DFE expects all schools to report on their use of the Pupil Premium and its impact. At St Francis we use the Pupil Premium Funding to support individuals by offering mentoring individually by a qualified teacher at least once per week for identified and eligible pupils.
Have you checked if your family are eligible for Free School Meals? Even if your child receives universal free meals in Early Years and Key Stage 1, please consider checking. The school receives much needed additional funding for every FSM eligible child on roll and we can use this to help pay for trips, events, uniform and music lessons for your child as well as other vital resources.
